Publication Opportunity Updates

For some writers it’s all about getting published, for others it is just the thought of sharing their work with others. At Virgogray Press, these opportunities are all possible and to a continuously growing audience. Here’s a note to inform we’ve updated our Submissions Page. Quite typically our submissions expand and contract throughout the year and we recommend regular visits. This latest expansion includes the submission call for a new anthology of patriotic poetry. Nothing. No One. Nowhere. Today

A note from Amelia Hoff, editor of Nothing. No One. Nowhere:

I am happy to announce the official release of Nothing. No One. Nowhere No. 1. I appreciate your patience, writer & reader. I thank all those who submitted for the inaugural issue of NNN. The decisions were tough in some instances, nevertheless, I am grateful to present this sacred text. I believe I’ve contacted all those whose work was published; if I have not, your submission may be in hold over for the second issue and I will contact soon. I was quite eager to see this text put together and bound in Virgogray’s signature chapbook style, and the collection is handsome, indeed. Nothing. No One. Nowhere No. 1 has poetry, art, reviews, prose– and is not short of talent. A sample is provided in the box to left or click the links. Thanks again to all those involved. I know the peeps at Virgogray and all those in their readerdom will enjoy this novel zine.

~A.H.

Nothing. No One. Nowhere. is a great joy of a collection, bold as anything we’ve released at Virgogray.  The zine is 53 pages, jam packed with lit/art relavent content and full color. Purchasing information is available at http://nothingnoonenowhere.blogspot.com/

We Need Your Poems About America!

Please do not forget about this country, and more importantly, what it symbolically stands for in regards to the freedom of man. The America Remembered chapbook anthology has become the most elusive in terms of submissions, nevertheless, the decision has been made to publish the anthology this year. Release date? You can bet it will be sometime in July and we’d like to see some more submissions. Generally, as the anthologies have gone, any poem can be submitted so long as it fits the theme somehow, but, admittedly, we are looking for a particular type of poem. Not one that reflects what is wrong with America or disillusionment, but one that looks at its qualities and what that means to you. Come on, poets, what does freedom mean to you? Is it restricted to the borders of a country? Is it owning property and things? Is it the ability to choose what is right for you and your family? Is it quality of life? Freedom is what America was given when it declared its independence. That is the type of anthology we are envisioning at Virgogray and know you can help us. So get crackin! Reading period ends summarily on June 10, 2010. If it means putting on your patriot cap, then please do so!
